3. Webcounter & Tracking
This webcounter is multipage capable and resolves IP addresses of visitors. Your websites can reside anywhere on the internet. (See 1.htm ... 4.htm as resembling examples). When the visitor opens your page he activates "3.cgi" (in the "v"-folder) which accesses v.cgi ! v.cgi can extract publicly available IP information(location) as well it counts your single pages. The hits are recorded in count1.txt to be processed for accummulating additional information the hits are finally stored in a readable form in "count2.txt". check.cgi uses count2.txt and enables you to see all hits in a webbrowser. In order for you to run the scripts, you should replace "home.tv/cgi-bin" with the domain name you are going to use. You may ask your webhost-provider. It is always convenient if you can test the software on your own computer. For this purpose the scripts may reside in: "http://localhost/cgi-bin /v .... ". 4. Global Count
This script consists of two short scripts: gcount.pl - the counter code and pass.pl - the Control Panel for creating new counters and changing counter values. This script is mainly intended for applications where a global count of all pages needs to be displayed on each page as well as an individual count for each page across an entire Website or multiple Websites. A single line of HTML is all that is inserted into the pages you want counters on. Does not require SSI.
