4. SYDI (Script Your Documentation Instantly)

Though many sysadmins realise the importance of a solid documentation of their network, many people doesnt seem to like doing the actual work involved. I wouldnt be surprised if there are more people who have documentation on their todo list (probably down at the bottom, but of course with high priority), then admins who are happy with their documentation. SYDI fits in when it comes to documenting your servers. It is a vbscript which gathers information through Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). The information is then written into a Microsoft Word file. After running the script the Word document will contain useful information such as; OS Version, Service Pack, RAM, Processors, Hard drives, ip address, services etc.

5. Search your documentation
|
This little script will help you find keywords/phrases in all textual documents/ebooks (even MS Word documents unless they are open-protected) within directory of your specification. It recurses all subdirectories or you can limit recursion level. Results are directed into a HTML file, where they are displayed as short excerpts of text containing your keyword/phrase.

A tool that enhances Javadoc documentation files with semantic information. The products operation can be divided into three phases: Information from the original Javadoc files is processed and stored in XML files. Static analyses are performed on classfiles and its results are stored in XML files.
